The foundation of the town was not influenced by geographical, historical or road and rail traffic situation. The newly created settlement was initiated by available labour power. Its history starts in 1935 as the J.A.Bata company settlement for shoe making in the cadastral area of Simonovany named Batovany. With the growth of the factory the houses and civic amenities were built. As the whole municipality of Batovany gained the attributes of a town, it was given a town status on 18.11.1948 and was renamed Partizanske in February 1949. In 1976 villages named Brodzany, Velke Bielice, Male Bielice and Navojovce were attached to the town area but only the last three mentioned villages have become a part of the region recently. In 1996 Partizanske became a district town with 22 nearby villages.

The number of Partizanske inhabitants nearly trippled during the last 59 years. It increased from 8,853 in 1950 to 24,005 in 2009.
